Today, we are able to just wake up at a slower pace. of course there are things to do during the day, but..........there is no crunch time..........Yeah!!
We had a great dinner with Martin's family last night, his great nephews are very sweet, and well behaved. We gather again tomorrow night with some friends as well..........his sister Doris loves to entertain, and is good at it.
We will just mozy(?) up to the consignment store, House of Treasures and start looking for an area rug, some pics and a cafe table and chairs........shopping can be such fun!
We just heard from some friends that hooked up to CBC radio today, that the PS Junior (?) hockey team is suspended ?, and some coaches not able to coach for a few years, supposedly because of partying..........what the heck!! THIS WAS ON CBC!!!!
Can we not give one young generation a chance at beginning a life with a difference of life lived in the past??
Really!!! It's NOT so cool!! If adults don't believe this and show a difference, how are the children supposed to trust anything different.....

Begin!!
Last night we had fun having BBQ and playing euchre over at our friends.
We got home, and Chester has now decided that the new bath mats in the new bathroom are his personal litter box............."not cool!"
I had a "heart to heart" with him, which Martin of course thought was crazy, but...........I DO believe he can understand me, when he wants. (NO, I'm not crazy!) I just explained that if he does not stop this new habit right now, we are ALL going to be unhappy............I also believe in choices......he!he!
We went to the gym this AM,.....AHHHH!!!! Feels good to be back and stretch.
Off to the family dinner tonight.......looking forward to meeting Martin's nephew, his wife and children.

Work is done......now for some R&R
All of the hard work is done...........now to relax and start the socializing.
We can start going back to the YMCA again, we've missed 2 weeks. There is a great facility just at our end of town, they give our park a discount, so......for the last 2 years I have tried to promote going there, but some still feel that it is taking away from the park activities. I try to explain that the activities are wonderful, but there could be addtional classes, or if you are one to work out independently, as I am, it's great!
I will start back to singing with the Belles tomorrow, that too was on hold until all was done. It will be good to see everyone again.
I am posting some finished pics of the new addition, martin is just hooking up the Bose sound system to the new "big TV", so we can watch movies on it in stereo.........
All is good, even Chester has claimed certain pieces of furniture.

We are off to Martin's sis, to meet her new Grandson, and rest of family tomorrow for dinner.

Today is the day!
Yeah!! The rest of the furniture just came, the bathroom is all done and ready to be used. I just washed ALL of the new towels and sheets.PHEW!!
It will be well worth all of the effort.
Now we're ready for our friends and family.......Woohoo!! I can't wait!

Winding down!
Today we finish the bathroom.............for sure!
Just the shower doors need to go up, and the towel racks and toilet paper holder. Then I can take out all of the colourful towels........
We had so much fun at Thanksgiving dinner last night, the people here are so hospitible and warm. The food was amazing, good wine, and we played this game Catch Phrase. They introduced Martin and I to it last year, so of course I bought it. It's a word game, kind of a combo of charades and head bands. Only Target sells the game, so it's hard to come by, but if you like games, it's well worth the effort to get.
We are off to Pine Island today to see Martin's parents for afternoon coffee/supper.

Almost ready to relax!
Well, we actually found almost all of our lanai furniture yesterday at the Thrift and consignment shops. OMG!!! If you have never seen one of these shops down here, it is well worth the trip. To some it may look like a "yard sale", but if you take the time and find some of the better shops............We found a Robb Stuckey couch for $225. For those who don't recognize this name, it is a fine furniture store down here, comperable to Ethan Allen, or Baer. It's just been so much fun planning, and watching those ideas transform over time.
Martin is putting the shower doors on today, then we cut and place the trim and that is that........yeeha!!
Even Chester is happy and comfortable in the new room.
Happy Thanksgiving!! (American) today we are having a street dinner, just wanted to be a part of something more quiet, otherwise there are 2 big dinners here, one at the clubhouse, the other at the rec. hall, for all of the Canadians down here.

Coming together!
Morning, the lanai is done (except that 2 feet) and now ready to be furnished, so our focus today is to go to the consignment stores and Thrift shops...........which are amazing down here, especially in Naples.
We found this really cool off white chair that is like Art deco, we found it at the Lion's Club for $20 bucks........Yeeha!! Right now is the time to go buy BEFORE Black Friday, we have learned that only certain items are ever a real bargain, otherwise go just before Friday, and shop without the line-ups at 5 in the AM. Our first year we DID get up early, but it was for a BBQ at Home Depot, and it WAS a great deal.
Everything is coming together now, the bathroom will be finished today, and hopefully we will find the furniture that we want.........Phew!!!

Waiting!
Morning all,
Those of you who know that Martin and I had a lanai built on to our home down here over the summer, also know that we have been running into a few blips. The newest one now is..........for the linoleum flooring, when measured, 2 feet were missed, so we are 2 feet short for 2 weeks until the special order can be delivered. No biggy, but after the 3 times having the plumber in to install the shower, and all of the back/forth from Lowes and Home Depot, those who have "been under construction" will understand.
The bedroom is done, except table, lamp, chair.....Bathroom is being done as I write.
Otherwise, Martin, Chester and I are doing very well...........I know "not to discuss the weather", this from one of my sisters.........guess which one....he!he!

Yummy Tummy!!
This pic was taken on Martin's and my trip down to Florida this year (2010)
We travelled down the I-75, because we have Chester and find the larger highway definately has more pet friendly hotels.
We use the "Along I-75" book, and I was looking for a gas bar up ahead and noticed a little blip of info. from the author about a cool little eatery "off the beaten path." It's The Whistle Stop, from the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes, which you will see in my profile, is one of my fave movies.............Well!!
We happened to be coming up to it right around lunch time, so of course we had to check it out. it's in a little town called Juliette, Georgia. We had some fried green tomatoes, of course, and chicken and dumplings....MMMMM!!!
It's about 15 min. off of the main road. We highly recommend if you can take the time.

Hi everyone!
I'm not quite sure yet how this works, but..........here it goes.
Since we live in Florida for 6 months of the year, my friend Maria suggested I start a blog, to inform all of my friends and family of life down here for Martin and I.
I figure there will be new development pics, since we still have about a week left of work to finish off the new addition to our home, many will of course include my side kick Chester.
I will try to post pics of places we go and keep an update to fairs and festivals around here.
This REALLY IS a cool little piece of Florida.
