HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Well, this is the last day of 2010......hope it was a good one, in some way for everyone, otherwise.......a new year is beginning for us all. I always look at it as an extension, but opportunity for a fresh start to make changes or new goals..........dream a little!
During the Christmas holiday, I made a treat, that I would not usually make, but.....MMMM!!!! It was sooooo good, I just couldn't resist. I have already had requests for the recipe, which is very simple........no baking required.
They are called "Tumbleweeds" down here, you may know them as something else, but........here goes!

Tumbleweeds
1 can salted peanuts
1 can potato sticks (like hickory sticks in canada, without the flavouring)
3 cups butterscotch chips (2 bags)
3 Tbsp. peanut butter
Combine peanuts and potato sticks in a large bowl.
In microwave, heat chips and peanut butter until melted, stir every 30 sec.
Add to peanut mixture, coat evenly. Drop spoonfuls on wax paper lined baking sheet.
Cool in fridge..............VOILA!!!!

So simple and so tasty, if you like sweet and salty.
Enjoy!!

Have a Happy New Year celebration everyone. I hope the New Year brings you good health, happiness, prosperity and the luxury of being able to dream.......

Christmas time!!!

Hi everyone, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. We had lots of fun down here. The weather has been a bit chilly for Florida, even frost, but.....it helped
make the holiday feel more authentic. (even had to cover the plants)
We were able to participate in the parks Christmas golf cart ride, to drive around and see all of the light displays. What fun!! There were about 75 golf carts involved, then a party after. It was a beautiful night, just cool enough to have a drink warm you up........

 Chester enjoyed Christmas Morning.

We had Martin's family over for the Christmas dinner this year, my Aunt and Uncle joined later for coffee and dessert (they also happen to live in this park, which we discovered 2 years ago at this time when I happened to call them to wish them Merry Christmas)....... a very nice surprise!!!
Take care to all!!
I hope the New Year brings you good health and much happiness........

Fun Filled Festivities in Florida

Hello from Brrr Bonita Springs! Even Chester has to wear a hat......he!he!
Hope all are well, we are going to be starting our baking soon......MMmmmm!!!!! I can smell it all now.........We are having our family Christmas dinner here, with Martin's family, there should be 10-12. We decided on ham this year, I will do the scallop potatoes.....otherwise everyone brings a dish and a gift to exchange. Nothing over $10. I spontaneously decided to have my sectional group from singing over for a Christmas cheer on Thursday. I have given Martin 3 days notice, so........I think that's enough time for him to figure what he can do..........he!he!
Here are a few pics of our festive lights............Enjoy!
Be warm, but.........stay cool!

A long time coming!

Well, it's been a while since my last post. We have been busy putting the last personal touches to our home. We have now decorated for Christmas......Yeah!! I LOVE the light that Christmas lights give.....makes me feel all warm inside. It's been chilly here in Florida as well, which helps make it feel "more authentic."
Soon, we will start baking....Mmmm!!! Shortbread here I come!! Martin will make his family recipe for Stholen.......we are having the family over for the Christmas meal this year.
Here are some pics of 5th Street,Naples Florida, Christmas lights..........Very beautiful!! Martin, my Aunt, a new friend and I went.
The belly dancers were fun, we actually were able to "danse in the streets."
Take care,
Hope everyone is healthy and happy,

Until next time...............
