Beautiful Terrain!

Hi everyone, this is likely going to be my last post, for this winter down here in Bonita Springs, Florida. What a season it's been.......through all of the hussle and bussle though, I/we have always managed to find some solace with the gorgeous nature down here. We went on the motorcycle the other day to an important piece of Florida history. The Corscrew Bird Sanctuary.
It is a long and winding boardwalk all through the jungle of protected Cypress trees and bird mating grounds amongst the marshes........so cool!
This is where the birds were slaughtered for fashion, their plumes were used for hats and coats. The wood storks and many other birds mate here. The clear cutting of Cypress trees was halted, because they finally realized the effects to the marshes and the natural water flow back to the oceans.
While walking, we actually got to see a couple of wild alligators, one 10 ft. guy was in the midst of his mating, so we got to hear the "croaking" of at least 4 females.......we had never heard this before, or mistook it for large bullfrogs in the park ponds.
I would recommend this worthwhile piece of Southwest Florida history, it's off of the I-75 between Bonita Springs and Naples.
The next time I post anything, we will be back home in Parry Sound.  We will be stopping in Gatlinburg Tennessee again for a few days along the way, at Martins cousins. I will likely have some pics to share.
WooHoo!! I'm looking forward to seeing family and friends again.
This has been fun sharing our experiences down here.......thanks for "listening."
